Equipment stockpiles positioned globally to support critical first response and rehabilitation efforts

OSRL maintains a standardised stockpile of Tier 3 wildlife response equipment across our global bases. These resources are designed to support the first 48 hours of a response — a critical window when local supply chains may be disrupted.

Developed in consultation with professional wildlife responders, the stockpiles focus on supporting bird casualties and cover two main areas:

In-field response

Includes PPE and equipment for surveillance, hazing, capture, transport, and basic medical care to stabilise wildlife before transfer to a rehabilitation facility.

Rehabilitation operations

Includes equipment and PPE to support trained personnel with triage, washing, rinsing, drying, and post-wash care. This also includes blood analysis tools, animal ID bands, and conditioning pools with water filtration systems.

All equipment is palletised and grouped by use — either in the field or in a rehabilitation centre — and can be shipped alongside other response equipment. The setup is designed for ease of transport and rapid use by trained wildlife responders.

Critical equipment

Standardised and pre-packed wildlife response kits are available globally to support the first 48 hours of an incident - when speed and access are crucial.

Comprehensive support

From capture and transport to triage and rehabilitation, the stockpile includes essential tools, PPE, and medical supplies to support trained personnel at every stage.

Designed by responders

Developed in consultation with wildlife specialists, the equipment is practical, portable, and palletised to integrate seamlessly into broader response logistics.
